Another Change
Just like so many I decided to make the move to Typepad and if you are reading this you found me. After yet another wonderful friend, Sue emailed me this morning to comment on a recent post I had made on blogger and she couldn't because she didn't have an account with Google or blogger I decided I had had enough. This was the 3rd email within 2 days sharing a blog comment they couldn't leave. Makes one wonder how many other comments I've missed because of this. Thank you Sue, Becky and Carol for sending your comments via email.
The switchover was made super quick thanks to Sara at Sadie Olive Designs. Within a few hours of emailing Sara and sending her all my login info she had me switched while I continued to collage and paint. It was so nice to get an email that said, You're all set! Thanks Sara for a quick and wonderful job. I don't know what I would do without Sara....I have come to depend on her when I just don't have the time and sometimes the experience with what needs to be done and I am not one to take very long to figure it out. Just outsource it and be done. I still have a few things to learn, but for once in my life I am not stressing over the little details....like the image is not quite centered, having problems getting the image the size I want, the text is a bit larger than I like, but the smaller is too small....see I'm not stressing about the details, but I know they are there and with time I will figure it all out. Hang in there with me as I learn the new ropes and make changes to the site. If any one has hints to make this change easier your suggestions and advise are always welcome.
Now for those that know me and those that have been in our home during the holidays are in for a surprise. I have not done any decorating except for the wreath on the front door and the front of my vehicle. Yes that is it and the door is very simple....just a huge fresh wreath with a few dollar store decorations stuck in. We have all been so sick we have just not felt like getting the things out of the attic and we only have two weeks until we leave for Arkansas to spend the holidays with our families. So far no one seems to care that the packages I have wrapped are stacked in the floor with no tree. This is so unlike me. I love Christmas, every room gets decorated, every room gets their own tree, we eat off of Christmas dishes, play Christmas music in the house and in the vehicle, the 150+ Department 56 villages are still safely boxed....not this year....nothing, not a thing. It will probably hit me in a few days and I will panic because we don't have a tree up, but we are not going to be here and we are coming home after the holidays. The kids are young adults and two of them are not even home....can you tell I am trying to convince myself this is okay. If the 100's of people that came through our home several years ago during a Christmas Tour of Homes could see it now they would not believe me. Our home has always been a place for parties and get togethers. The neighbors loved that I had bells hung on my front porch and when you walked down the street you could sing along with the music. We leave hay and carrots for the reindeer and Santa leaves his footprints as the make believe snow falls from his boots from the fireplace to the tree. But I believe in Santa and know he will find us where ever we are, my daddy told me so!
Until next time.....I need to go change some links so everyone will find my new home.
Happy Holidays,
Debbie

I love the wreath on the door! I could "smell" the peppermint!

I have only recently started blogging; and I'm just pouring my shabby heart out on the blog even though it can seem an isolated, lonely endeavor without feedback. So I truly understand what you mean. How frustrating it must have been to learn by e-mail there were folks whose comments would have been so welcomed & encouraging - yet, you were missing them! Hope this works better for you... Best of luck with your new blog! :) I found it!

Yay! welcome to typepad--I think you'll be much more happy with it. I couldn't comment either--after closing my own blogger account.
Good to see ya and hope your new year is off to a great start.
