It's that time of year once again when I pull out all of my marketing books and notes and visit sites that have been a positive influence to me. One of the first books, which those that follow me, already know is "I'd rather be in the studio" by Alyson Stanfield. One of my favorite sections was the "Inventory Your Artwork"....I had always kept a record of each piece, but Alyson's list of categories had me rethinking and I made adjustments to my spread sheet. I know know everything about a specific piece in moments as well as where the piece was on exhibit. This is great for future exposure should the piece not have been sold. You NEVER want to submit a piece to a gallery to be juried if they have already seen it. Thankfully most of my art has sold either during an exhibit or before that particular exhibit comes around again. If you don't receive Alyson's Art Marketing Action Newsletter, check it out here. I always look forward to finding it in my inbox!
Oh and BTW, I love having pre-written blog post scheduled for when I am on vacation. See you in 6 days!
Until Next Time....
Debbie
